160 mph speedometer ?

Hey guys,I'm new to the fox body's and wondering about the 89 notch I just bought. It has a 160 mph speedometer in it that looks factory. I have a buddy that has a 140mph in his 88 notch, he said his was a Tenn. trooper car. Can anybody tell me what the 160's came in? I did a search,but couldn't find an answer.

my 91 has a 160 speedo in it too. i believe they are special service speedometers........cool, except white face or diff background instrument faces wont work because their all made for 140 speedo's......

does it say "CERTIFIED" on the dash or guages anywhere? i dont know anything about stangs interiors but i know that ex cop cars had certified speedos and were labeled.
