Ok so i have been wanting the Saleen rims for ever but they affordably only make them in a 17X9 for the 2005+ mustang... I have a 95 Gt I finaly decided to go with the 18X9 rims but my dilema is what size tires should I use.. I was thinking 275/40/18 but would a 40 Be to much sidewall? my old 95 gt has 285/40/17 in the rear with cobra R 10.5's i had no issues. But going up to an 18 will I have clearance issues? Anyone have picture of 18's on a 94-98 Stang? My car is a white vert, if that plays any role in this??

if you get the saleens..they are 9" up front and 10" in the rear

I put 265/35 on the front and 285/35 on the rear. Since you're going with less sidewall, a tire with a better gripping compound is the way to go. I'm going with some nitto 555r's in the 305 form.

btw, I had no problem with the current setup as far as fitment goes

for a 9" rim go with anyting in the 245-275 range (245-40-18, 255-40-18, 265-35-18, 275-35-18)

10" youll want a minimum of 285 and can go up to 305 with a 35 sidewall

i have 275 and 295's on my saleens

I'd stay away from a 245 on a 9" wheel. I have them, and the lip sticks out farther than the sidewall. I very lightly rashed one of my front wheels not realizing how close I was to a curb when I pulled into a parking spot. The rear would've been alright. Go 255 or 265 on the front if you use a 9" wheel. Here's a few pics to show what I mean. The front is a 245/40/18 and the rears are 285/35/18.

How can I add a picture of my car to a post? Its not pretty yet, but I still want to show you guys what im working with. Do you have your white mustang lowered or is it sitting on stock springs?

I bought the 18" Steeda Ultra-lite wheel package which comes with 285/35 all around, and I can say that 285/35 with the backspacing on the steeda wheel is too wide for the front.

I'm going to be getting rid of these wheels soon since I want a 10.5" rear wheel, and Steeda only makes theirs in 9" :( Then I'll change tire sizes.
