I want to get the 18x9 & 18x10 inch deep dish fr500's for my 97 cobra coupe, and 1 of the maximum motorsports techs told me that I will have issues with the quad shocks & the18x10's in the rear. Is this true? I see alot of people in the magazines, and alot of people on here running deep dish 18x10's, but I dont know anyone personally with that setup. I dont know if it matters but my car will also be lowered about 1 1/2 inches all the way around before I get the wheels. Please help, because I really want these wheels, and the 18x9,s dont look wide enough in the back to me.

17X10.5s...have 285s on now, but have also ran my dads 17X10.5s with 315s, and NO rubbing.
I think it may have to do with the year of the car. 99-04s RARELY have issues, and thats only with certain exhaust systems.

just got 18x10's with 285 rubber and have absoultly no problems at all
Do you have any pictures of your rear rims? I keep hearing that 285's will be too narrow on a 18x10 rim and im hoping its not true because i just got new tires and don't wanna buy a set of 295's or 305's when i upgrade to black DD Bullitts in a month

so is there a difference with the clearance on the rear from the 94-98, & the 99-04. And I dont mean the fender lip difference, I mean on the inside near the quad shock. Because I see that the first reply was a 94-98 car, and he said he had to remove his quads, but everyone else who replied had a 99-up and said they had no issues at all? I thought the chassis and suspensions were all the same underneath from 96-04?
