1986 GT A/C Problems

Ok so I just tore the dash outta my car for a heater core, had to discharge my a/c system, I am wanting to get a new liquid line and accumulator.. Where do you buy this stuff? All you a/c gurus please answer. I have found 87-93 liquid line but the firewall end looks like it has the o ring snap and lock, and my firewall end has tapered nut. Also how do I pull a vacuum on the system do they sell a pump to do this?

I cant answer your first question, but yes they do sell a vacuum pump that will work on your car. I have 1. You can also make one out of an old refridgerator compressor.

My current vacuum pump is a refrigerator hermetic unit (motor & compressor in one unit). It was a freebe from a local used appliance store. I bolted it down to a piece of plywood & soldered a 1/4" flare fitting on the suction line. It works great, pulls 29" of vacuum in about 10 minutes or less. I have used it several times and have had excellent results.
