Need some input. I have a 88 with a starting issue. I built the car for my boy. Got it running and put 2000 miles on new motor before installing the blower. He would tell me it was miss while driving. I never did drive the car and thought he was not use to the car and was just over playing the problem. Well the first day I drover it, it quit running. It will start and die instantly. I replaced the ignition switch, ignition module and the fuel pump relay. I disconnected all MSD boxes and went back to stock ford wiring.
So I jumped the coil the + and I could hear the injectors pulse and fuel pump prime. Got it to start and run, but it still had the miss. So I turned the key off and the miss goes away.
So I have no power from switch to coil. And when wired direct, it will run with miss until key is cut off.
A fuseable link? If so, where is the miss coming from? I'm at a loss on what to check next.
Any suggestions?
