Anyways, to answer your question somewhat. A Mazda RX-7 should beat you. A Ford Probe should not. Your buddy's car...I have no idea.
I know Mazda made some of the Ford engines. But an RX-7 engine, to my knowledge is a rotary engine. As far as I know Probes only had 4 cylinder, and V6 engines while they were produced.94 3.8l stang said:Mazda and ford since the early 90's have been in together on making cars. Like escorts equivalent to protege... rx7 and ford probes(there was also another mazda more like the probe, can't remember its name..). I own an 88 escort when ford still made them, in 89 i believe Mazda manufactured motors starting going in escort. They really got involved in the ninety's though with the 1.8 DOHC, rare escort with like 200 hp. the mazda 1.8 had nothing near what they made for ford. LOL. anyways getting off topic. I have seen lots of people even where i live with mazda motors in there ford probes, mostly the newer ones. And in all actuality, I think the probe would win unless you get nitrous,SC, or some serious mods.
It's probably the MX-6 engine. So to answer your question. It should be a close race. He does have advantage with the manual tranny, but you have more torque.stealthpony said:ok im not sure if it is a rx-7 BUT i know its mazda for sure. If its not a rx-7 then could you tell me what it could be then? the car is a 550 doller 1995 ford probe and the engine says mazda 3.0 on the engine and i believe it is a v6.
