2.3l Turbo Low Boost/ Missfiring

I have an 88 xr4ti with the lema engine ,I have searched many forums none of them have the answer. I was wondering if someone could help?ive replaced coils , coil packs, spark plugs, distributor cap, distributor rotor and other ignition parts , ignition does not seem to be the problem. i checked for a boost leak and could not locate any. Even after all of this the boost lowered around 5psi than about a month later it did the exact same thing I need help The symptoms include
*low boost
*misfiring(skipping when boost starts to build)
*Ping
*I have not noticed any excessive white smoke

Try turboford.org, they specialize in turbo 2.3 Lima engines.

Sounds like spark blow to me. If that is indeed the problem the way to solve it is closing the plug gap.. and if that doesn't get it, increase your spark voltage. I just went through the same problem on only 7 psi.. my tuner gave me the above advice. .020 plug gap, hotter coil, mallory ignition box. That cured it.

edit: Not a 2.3.. but a boosted motor anyways.
Also, if you are getting ping, you are likely notrunning adequate octane fuel.
