1st problem is the dipstick is really hard to put back in after checking the oil, it feels like its catching on something at a few different points and takes some manuvering to get all the way in. What could be causing this?

2nd thing is I went to check the timing but I dont see any marks on the crank except for a dab of paint, how can I tell the timing?

Take some solvent & wipe down the harmonic balancer. The marks are there, probably just covered up with dirt.

i would just buy a new dipstick and tube. the tube id probably pinched somewhere or the stick is bent. i dont think they would be that expensive, and they are easy to change.

also use a yellow lumber crayon for the mark on ur balancer.

:nice:
