20 amp toggle

Sure, the signal wire for a relay is usually very very low current. It has high resistance and is used only really to detect voltage. The relay itself carries the high current lines. Hence the relay.

You COULD get one of those huge fat dipswitch swithches from autozone. I've seen some capable of 30 amps. But they are ugly. There are some made with all metal internals that are capable of 60 amps but most autozones/parts places dont carry anything that beefy.

yes it will turn on, but it will get hot and fail or something in the long run cause it is carrying more of a load than which it was rated for. just get a bigger relay made for your setup.
oops, just reread the post. just make sure the realay on the fans is big enough for the setup.

and that you are using the toggle in line with the control side of the relay (not the fan feed). it has been done.
most SPDT relays draw ~200 mA or less; some of the bigger relays (75 amp Bosch's for example) can draw a little more.
good luck.
