2001 V6 Clutch/TOB issues

So my 01 started making an awful screeching tonight (yeah, I know....it's been going on about a week, didn't just start tonight ) whenever I shifted, and also did it when I wasn't shifting. I've been told to check into the TOB and also the clutch.....any other thoughts? This went from mild to pretty severe, pretty quickly, and I know I don't need to drive it unless absolutely necessary - any input is welcome. Thanks.

Yeah it would seem the clutch or tob is going out on it. Are you pushing the clutch all the way down when you shift? Does the car have any lag to it, like say, starting from a stop in first? Does it slip any? Not to accuse you of anything, but, if your not the original owner, someone has probably ragged the piss out of the clutch dreaming that they were driving a GT...lol. Btw, how many miles on it.
