Hi! I'm new here. My bro is AmBo on the forums here. I'm not sure if you know him or not but he's got a 2000 GT supercharged with all the extra lovings. Anyway, I'm looking at purchasing my first Mustang and my bro told me to post here for opinions on it. Here are the specs:

2002 Ford Mustang GT Premium
Mileage: 134,000
Body Style: Convertible
Exterior Color: Black
Interior Color: Charcoal
Engine: 8 Cylinder
Transmission: Manual

Description:
Adult owned and Mach 1000 6 disc sound system (1000 watts / two trunk mounted 12 inch sub woofers). XM Radio, Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil, used every oil change since new (changed every 5000 miles). Interior, exterior and top in excellent condition (was always garaged). Brand new clutch and just tuned up. Has all records of maintenance. 134,000 (highway) miles.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds okay, remember these motors are used in police Crown Victorias for a reason. If it runs good, has the Aluminum crossover on the Intake Mani, and has the TSB fix on the TR3650 transmission it looks like a very good maintained car and you cant find a lower mileage car for about $1k more; go for it man!

My 1999 GT Convertible has 98k miles and it'll be mine til it blows up.

Honestly......that has a ridiculous amount of miles on it. My 02 has 61K on it and I know that's about average. I'm almost stunned how someone could get that many miles on that year. They had to travel ALOT with that car. I would make sure the tranny is ok and I would offer them a respectable amount that would make you really happy. With that many miles I don't see getting many interests especially as stock as it is so I would try and get the best deal possible.

You think 61k is average for a 02? I think for a daily driven/year round car 20k miles a year is average. My car is a 2000 model and I drive it year round rain/sleet/hail/snow and it has 155,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Its had its problems but nothing to major.

134k isn't THAT many miles, especially if it spent most of that time in 5th gear on the highway

i'd rather buy a clean well maintained 1 owner 100k+ car than a beat to fxck 4 owner 50k car

Well...I'm sorry, but if you can't find a good 99+ GT at a good price with well under 100K miles then you should look for something else. There is only so low the seller is going to go, and I much rather invest my money into something with much lower miles and will have a greater chance of having a good resale value in the long run. I'm sorry, but a GT mustang is not very rare and you should have no problems locating a better vehicle at a respectable price. This however would be a good engine build car if that's what you were wanting it for or you REALLY want this exact car and are on a low low budget.

And for the record 20K miles a year is pretty high for a daily driver, not horrible but on the high end. Most dealerships consider 15K more to be the average. I don't know....I drove my car daily up until the last year, now I drive it maybe 40% of the week.
