First post, be gentle.....

I have 2 small cracks on what I can only call the passenger side knee bolster. It is the curved section just left of the air vent, above the glove box, and below the air bag. I have found a ton of posts on repairing (doesn't work well) and replacing the entire dash. I have found a couple of good dashes in my area for good prices. What I'm wondering is, can I just replace this piece without replacing the whole dash? I haven't been able to find an exploded view of the dash or a thread on any site that deals with just this piece. I've had dashes apart before and it's a huge PITA. Thanks in advance!

Is this the portion with the rip?

If that portion is hard plastic and not padded in any way, it will be easier to patch than say, a dash pad or something.

It looks like what you have is a crack versus a tear. That sound about right?

Its not that bad to replace. However, a good upholstery shop might be able to fix it. When I got my Mustang the previous owner screwed in the satellite radio mount into the dash. 75 dollars and a couple hours later I can't even tell where the 2 holes were.
