I have a 2002 GT w/leather seats (power drivers seat). I am swapping in some 03' Cobra seats. Just had a few questions:

    1. How do I remove the old seats? I know its just a few bolts, but anything specific I should know? (Need to remove Fronts and Rear).

    2. Will the power connector from my stock seats plug right in to the Cobra seats? Or will this require more work, splicing?? I know the Cobra seats have the lumbar power, so not sure if the stock connector will work?

    Thanks for the help!

Jeez, how did I end up as seat master! Did you do a thread search for seats? I just helped another guy out the other day....once you get your driver seat out, compare the plug to the one on the cobra seat, they should match

But bump to see if anyone knows if the Cobra seats will plug right in?

It should, I know that the plug from 2003 Mach 1 seats are the same as the 2002 GT plug.:D

Yes, they should be the same plug. Having different plugs for the same platform (Mustang) for the same part (seats) would cost too much in $$ and complexity.

:nono: actually, the sequence would be unbolt, unplug, replace, re-plug, re-bolt. You need the power to the power seats to move it fore and aft to access all 4 bolts. :D

Where would be a good place to get either Mach 1 seats or Cobra seats?

Yeah Cobra seats are uber expensive and I in now way can afford the pristine ones that go on Ebay for $1k and over. But I happened to get lucky and get a great deal on some fronts seats out of an 03' Cobra that caught on fire up front in the engine bay. The leather on the seats is MINT, the only problem is that the plastic visors that sit up near the windshield began to melt and dripped a bit on the driver seat "suede". So on that seat there is some small black spots - dried melted plastic. The passenger seat is almost 100% perfect, except for ONE spot from melted plastic as well. I cleaned the seats up and they look great, I just need to see if there is a way I can get the plastic off - I may take it to an upholstery shop to get an estimate. But the deal I got was awesome and it was LOCAL! So no shipping and I picked them up myself. I got both seats for $300 bucks which is pretty damn good for Cobra seats. My butts gonna be in the spot where those few black marks are anyway, haha.

I then went on Ebay and found a MINT Cobra rear seat, in the same color and all. Nabbed it for $130 shipped to my house, another awesome deal.

    ONE LAST QUESTION:

I got both front seats out, SUPER easy - and my bolts didnt need too much muscle, werent rusted in place like others have experienced. And I also got the rear seat bottoms out, real easy again with the seat belt trick.

BUT, how do I get the UPPER rear seat panels off? Im pretty sure I know how to do it, but some pointers would be helpful. From looking at the Cobra rear seats, it looks like that clear plastic retainer snaps into the round bracket in the car. So I guess I just have to pop it off in some way - not much room to work in that area. Whats the best way to do this?? I tried for like 10 minutes before it got dark.

    Thanks for the help!

Cobra seats can be bought new or used, Mach seats can only be purchased used from a Mach owner. For the best deals check out the classified sections of SVT or Mach specific forums.
