2006 GT running rough. Solenoid problem?

Hi Guys. New to the forum.

My '06 GT was running very rough. As if it wasn't firing on all 8 cylinders. I dropped it off for a check at my local repair and they told me that it was now running OK, but a diagnostic showed that a solenoid that controls Cam timing had been stuck. The tech said that it might, or might not happen again. I am not familiar with this situation, so I was wondering if this solenoid should be replaced. Any of you techs out there have an opinion?

I know about as much as you do on this subject, I'd probably do the research and find out how much the solenoid costs and how much your local shop would charge to install it, its its not too much then I'd probably go ahead and replace it, but, if its really expensive I'd just drive it the way it is, and see if it happens again, if it does, then you know what you need to do.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in on this for you and point you in the correct direction.
