F**# Stephan Curry. I'm not sure if you guys are following it, or even know who he is. He is Dale Curry's older son, who now is playing for Davidson College in NC. He can shoot lights out, and shoot from 30+ feet without working. He is a great player, I'm not trying to deminish his talent, but I don't like him, because he dropped 44 against us(NCSU) last Saturday. He had 44/71 or so points. He is still averaging about 35 pts/game, with scoring 0 one game, and he just took his double team and sat in the corner with them. I HATE Stephan. End rant.
Do you really hate him or just kinda hate him? BTW...I wanted to make a College basketball thread. Will move this into it when it gets done.
I don't really hate him, or dislike him. He's very smart, well spoken, good kid. I just don't like that he dropped 44 on North Carolina State. When Davidson plays any other ACC team, I'll love him.
I started watcining Davidson last night byut my dad called and I got distracted. Didn't get to see too much of the game.
They're not as good as there were last year, making it to the Elite 8, but Stephan is a Damn good ball player. Just they don't have anyone else.
I watched part of the Davidson game last night, but I was too busy watching my Pistons get their ass whooped to catch most of it.
Should be a good one. I'm really interested to see how Chris Kramer does defending him (Reigning Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year). Hold Curry to less than 20 points and we should win.
Keep in mind that he was held to 0 points in one game, and Davidson still won by 30, of course the game was a 4 on 3. You can't stop Curry, only contain, and stop the others.
Of course you have all figured out who I like. So where are your loyalties and how well do you think they will do this season? LSU is 6-0 after some cupcakes...best team so far was Cal St-Fullerton and we blew them out. A few more cupcakes and we get Washington St then SEC play starts. We have a new coach in Trent Johnson who we stole from Stanford.
I'm loyal to North Carolina State University. Our hardest competition was Davidson thus far. ACC play will start soon. In basketball, the ACC is the conference to beat.
I wish we would get into some ACC games. To be the best you have to beat the best although we sent Riddick and Duke home crying in 2006.
Id say outside the UNC and Duke the ACC is descent but not great. Heck this year the Big 10 didnt even get blown out in the B10 ACC challenge like normal. In actuality outside of UNC vs MSU and Duke vs Purdue they were all great games. I was dissapointed in Purdue against Duke, they just played awful. But I dont think anyone is beating UNC unless major injuries or something crazy happends. They are on a different level.
Just finished watching Georgetown/Memphis and UMass/Kansas. Some pretty good games today. Headed to the PMAC tonight to see LSU against Grambling. Should be another blow-out.
I hate to sound like a broken record....but the Oklahoma Sooners are super nasty in basketball as well this year. I've only been able to make it to 3 games so far this year, but this squad is the real deal. Blake Griffin is "argueably" the best player in College Basketball. (Toss up between Griffin, Hansborough or Curry.) They have great depth off the bench, and for the first time in school history, they have 2 Mcdonalds All Americans on the same team. (Griffin, and freshman Willie Warren) The true freshman, Warren has already proven himself on the court, and is probably a one and done player headed to the NBA next year. Blake Griffen is all but guaranteed to be the 1st overall pick in the NBA draft. They are a legit Final 4 calibur team, but I'm not sure they have the talent to be able to compete with North Carolina. (Who does?)
My Boilermakers came THIS close to beating you guys I'm hoping for a Sweet Sixteen for Purdue...I'll make my judgement after I see how we do against Davidson this coming weekend. We lost to Duke and OU, but they are both top 10 teams right now. And we took OU into OT. Oh, and heres us psycho fans from last year:
Which is why I said hold him to under 20 points, not zero. He was double teamed in that game, which is stupid. Davidson has a solid team around him; its not like they're a high school team without him. Purdue is known for their great defense; hopefully he can be limited.
That was an exhibition game before the season started. It really was nothing more than a dunk contest. Because even with the 58 point victory...it did not count as a win for their overall record. So, even though their record is 12-0, their official record in the books is 10-0. Of Oklahoma's wins so far this season, 4 of their 10 wins have been over top 25 teams. 3 of those 4 top 25 victories were on the road. So, there is alot to be excited about.
