Every city has it's drunk idiot fans, so a few people will get arrested. Philadelphia has been waiting for a championship for a long time. There are 30 year old people who were 5 the last time Philly won a title, and probably weren't old enough to appreciate it. I wasn't even born yet and I'm 24. People just say things like that because we are excited. Everyone is going to be out and about to celebrate if they can pull it off.

Yeah there was no sarcasm in my last post, what so ever. And its not like any other city hasn't gone crazy after winning a championship.

I hope they do win because i want to go to the parade and have been a Phillies fan since i was little and went to some of the games in 1993 when they almost got the title. GO PHILLIES!

Last night would have been the right one for Philly to win it.
The bad weather would have kept the certain violence and destruction to a minimum.

I disagree. I didn't have tickets but I was there in the parking lot last night. Things were starting to get out of control. As I was driving in some idiot kid was moving down a hill and almost ran right into the side of my car, not get hit by me, run face first into the side of my Explorer. The dude was totally bombed. I had to lay on the horn after I saw him coming out of the corner of my eye. He had something in two balloons that he was inhaling. I'm not into that crap so I dunno what might have been in there. People were incredibly drunk and the rain was just making them irritable.

I think this rain delay might be a good thing for the city. People will have less time at the ballpark to drink and get out of hand. This won't affect the people tailgating though as they will be out there probably all day. I want to be there when they win it all in the crowd but I dunno if it is worth going back. I'll probably take public transportation next time.

Well the end of game 5 has been pushed back to Wed. now and i would suspect that the if necessary games in Florida are to take place would be Thursday and Friday. I can't wait to see how this World Series finally wraps up.

I also hope that there are some changes to the umpire rules after this because having different Umps out there every night is creating noticeable differences from game to game (i.e. strike zone) i think there would be more consistent calls if the same Umps worked the entire series.

I believe the same crew of umps do work a series, they just rotate positions, don't quote me on that though.

I am happy the phillies won it.. they have real fans that have suffered for a long time.

tampa bay has fans that became fans in September they had a good season but they can wait a few years to win a title.

Eh I wouldn't say that. I live in the heart of Ray's-ville and while I am no fan of theirs (or baseball in general) there has always been alot of support for them in the time I've lived here (2002-present) even with how bad they have been.

That said, they are going to be in for a rude awakening when the team gets moved.

They've always had attendance issues at Tropicana, even when the Rays started to get hot...but there is still alot of support for the team here and lots of people who display Rays memorbila.
