2011 GT V-8 air Filter compatable with

Neighbor has a new KN 33-2431 Panel Air Filter unused. Until I deceide what changes are going to be done on my new 2012, temporarly, will the KN air filter for the 2011 fit my newly arriving 2012 GT V-8 (assuming it does as it's the same engine as the 2011) but sometime minor changed in design are done in cars that prevent using items from previous years.

I would think that the K&N would fit.

You can check on the K&N website to be sure. Or you could compare the stock 2012 air filter with the K&N filter and see if the dimensions are the same.

K&N's website does show a 2012 GT V-8 as yet.

I would suggest emailing K&N directly with this question. I don't believe that the dimensions of the factory airbox changed from 2011 to 2012 in the Mustang.

Or ask the Ford dealer's part department if there is a part number difference between the two factory air boxes.
