Hi all.

I'm wanting to change to 275/40x17's on my '04 GT ... but I've heard they will pull in the rutts even more than the stock 245 tires ... is that true? Is it a significant difference?

Thanks!

assuming you are talking about just the front tires, yes they will pull more in ruts. I have 265s versus the stock tires and i totally noticed a difference. I didn't know what people were talking about until i experienced it for myself.

Can't honestly say on a Stang, but ...

On my SS vs. the T/A I had previously I can definitely tell a difference !

The T/A had 16" GSC's - the SS came w/ 17" (275/40ZR/17) and it road walks.

Not horribly so, but enough to let you know that the road has an imperfection in it. :p

Seems like the more worn they get, the more it does it - I guess more tire on the ground.

I have had Kuhmo ECSTA 712's on it since the Good Years ran out of life around 28K.

yes. next time around I think I will go 255 or 245 for the fronts, cause if you live in an area that has bad roads or road rutts it will pull all over the place. I have to drive in certain lanes on my way to work or my car is all over the place.
