3 inch exhaust on 351w

Just wondering about this, I recently purchased some new mac 351w swap longtubes to replace my old crappy headers on my 351 fox, I didn't realise until tonight that they have 3" collectors, and that my old h pipe won't fit up.

My question is: with a slightly modded (headwork, light cam, intake, etc.) carbed 351w, will I lose a lot of power/torque if I just bite the bullet and go full 3" exhaust? Or will my motor pump enough exhaust to use the 3" at least a little...?

Just trying to decide if I should try and rig up my 2.5" exhaust to fit the new headers of to just get new exhaust.

Well, i would probably say to stick with the 2.5". Imay be wrong, but I think with a mild cam and heads you may need to keep your low end grunt. just my

i was thinking the same thing. 3 inch is really for higher hp cars. i'm sure you can get a 3 inch collector to adapt to a 2.5 inch h-pipe
