I have some 30's laying around, will they be big enough or should I try and find some 42's?

Maybe with a Fuel Management Unit (FMU) you would be okay, but you would not get all-out performance and driveability in my opinion.

I would sell the 30's, and shoot for some 42's if you can, with a dyno tune.
