    EDITED, VIDEOS UPLOADED

I have to say, today was the neatest automotive event I have ever been to. Nascar, Indy, NHRA, Pinks all out, and my own drag racing. The reason why is because these are street cars(maybe not street legal). The baddest shops in the world specializing in Lambos, Ferraris, Porsche, Ford GT's, Vipers, Corvettes, Stangs, ETC. were out to play this weekend. Also, this is not a true top speed run these cars are capable of speeds higher than this, but this is just a 1 mile run.

Overall, we got much closer than I anticipated. We got into the field between the pits and the runway, which is technically not allowed, but I felt we were at a safe distance.

Many cars and bikes over 200mph, but the Texas mile needs a better PA system and crappy radio station that doesn't always work.

Thanks to Stephen W. for the equipment! Get another car.

Kawasaki racer, my best bud, Jimmy. He had to make sure we had enough beer for the 450 mile one day roadtrip!

Plenty more sick rides to post, and I'll post the cars on the track tomorrow. Even with my lack of experience, the Nikon d50 makes cars going 180-220mph look like they are standing still. I will post pics at the 3/4 and 1 mile mark, and I hope to get the videos up soon.

That is definately an event I'd like to see someday!

Just curious, but it doesn't look like any of the cars have rollbars in them. I would think that if they were going 200+ mph that might be a safety rule.

Tim, 190mph, you have to be caged. A lot of cars in the pics did not run. I have a few hundred more pics of cars. A lot of the cages are custom, not like a standard mustang cage, and are hard to see. But all the fast cars had cages/parachutes.

This is the typical, childish reply that we come to expect at this place.

It's "paid", not "payed", and you would "paid" to watch 3 mustangs blow up too.

Great pics and thanks for the account on each pic.
Man, I bet that was a cool time. A lot of exotic and heavily modded cars.
I was wondering on the specifics, as well, on safety equipment since much can't be seen in these pics.
Expected cages helmets and the usual ... but what kind of support was on hand?
EMTs .. fire units? Imagining the worse at those speeds ... it could get ugly.
