$350 for Explorer intake + GT40 heads. Worth it?

milled/springs/tanked/valve job cost me $550. (springs were .550 lift comp cams)

There is a key word here when we're talking about any GT40 head - valve job.

A decent valve job is worth TONS of power on these heads...ask Troy Carter (AKA TMC).

I have a set of gt40 heads sitting in my garage for a good 2 years now that I keep forgetting that I have. I got them from my friend who ownes a salvage yard for $100 bucks. I also have a a friend of a friend who said he would do a nice valve job and get them all cleaned up for me for $140. I think Im gonna buy an intake and cam and make this my winter project.

It all depends on what needs to happen w/ the install. Are you keeping stock rockers or getting aftermarket ones?

Will the stock pushrod length work, or will you need longer/shorter ones?

That will tell me enough to get an accurate time estimate. But you know how life is, sometimes things crap happens and you need time to deal with it.

But with the lessons I have learned, things should go smoothly.
