351C heads on a 289...How to.

One other difference I didn't see written in this thread is that the Boss 302 chambers were significantly smaller than the 4V cc Cleveland heads. Most closed chamber 4V Cleveland heads measure out at about 68 cc. A 302 will need some seriously domed pistons to get a decent compression ratio.

I think T Meyer in Minnesota might sell pistons for Cleveland heads on a 302 or stroker small block Ford. EDIT: T. Meyer also sells Austrailian 302C heads with closed chambers - probably a better choice for a 302 or 289.

I like the Boss concept too, but also agree that it isn't the cheapest way to get the best performance now a days. Go with AFR 185s FTW.
