Well I need help! I'm at the point to select an engine for my 65' Fastback 2+2. I am not going stock so I want a bigger engine. I have been looking at 351W and 331 strokers, which people have been telling me to go for. I don't want to do any modifications to the towers and the car has power disc/drum so I am going with modern driveline's cable clutch. Price range is 7 to 8K

This has caught my eye, I know its a cobra but I'm likin':

both engines fit, the 331 fits like a 289 though. the 351w requires swap headers. neither engine requires the shock tower be notched. the other advantage the 331 has is lighter weight, about 100lbs lighter.

As stated the 351W requires a header swap and when I was looking at doing this there was only 1 header out there for this. Look in Summit/Jegs. I also read of some clearance issues with the 351 and power brake booster. I stayed with the 289 since I have "room" to work and stuff. Yahoo or Google "351W in a '65 mustang" and you'll get your answers. I'd go beefed up 289/302 or with the 331.
