what cam????

with my combo(similar to yours -the piggyback sys)
i made 328rwhp and 360rwtq with a slipping clutch and stock eec-iv. at the time i was over injected and the car had a bad missfire and a/f ratio
since then i have resized the injectors and maf and picked up what feels to be a lot of power (and the clutch has totally let go at this point)

good luck
PM me with any questions if ya need to :nice:

you should talk to Brian for a stroker kit..he posts alot at corral.net i think he has a site? http://www.adperformance.com/

he is a really good guy and has nice prices and will help you out with picking one

a stock 351W block usually goes up to 427, which is more then you need..id suggest a 393 or 408..but like i said...email or phone Brian at AD Performance

For 400+rwhp you will have to bump the compression up to ~10.5:1, put some AFR 205 heads, vic jr intake, and a high revving cam, 1 3/4 headers, 3" exhaust, electric fan, 750cfm carb, oh and i dont think you will need the 1000hp fuel pump. It is really loud so you might want to try a holley fuel pump or something.

Ran a dyno for you,

with a Z303 cam, heres what a your 351w should put out.

3000 3400 3800 4200 4600 5000 5400 5800 6200 6600
219 263 309 345 370 387 390 383 372 343Hp
383 407 427 432 422 406 379 347 315 273Tq

Btw this was run useing 1 5/8 headers, 75mm TB, 10.0:1cr, and a Z303 cam.

Let me know what other cam or combo you want to run, e.i. diffrent cam, stroker/size.

I wouldn't go with a FMS cam....don't forget, we are dealing with quite a bit more cubes than a 302 based motor (if he indeed does go with a 393, 408, etc.) I would get in touch with Rick Anderson or Ed Curtis on a custom cam. I went with a Comp Cams XE282HR and was only able to pull good power with my 358W until around 5700 rpms (365rwhp). I am looking into a cam swap and getting some bugs worked out of my tuning, hoping to see 400+ to the rear tires...

I ran it with that cam as a starting point, if he gives me 2 or 3 cams i'll run there numbers, but first he needs to deside if he wants to stroke it.

True....I just wanted him to know that the FMS cams would be too small for a 351W based motor, especially if he is looking to achieve the 400+ mark. :nice:

Been away from stangnet for a while (no pc). But heres my new combo, it's almost done and awaiting engine dyno.

69' 351 block, eagle 4340 rotating assembly, je custom pistons, all ARP with probe girdle. 418 cubic inch, 11.25:1 compression, TFS "R" heads, super victor intake, 1000cfm demon carb, cam is 252/[email protected], 110 ls, .576/.576 hyrdo roller. Kooks custom 1 7/8" long tubes, 3" exhaust with tails. Rest of the list is huge, but engine builder and dyno place both expect around 600fwhp and 600fwt. FWIW, PK machine is doing the dyno work, he just did a 408 almost a spitting image of mine that made 613fwhp and 580ishfwt on pump gas. Simple combos with BIG power.
You can email me if you're really interested in what it cost to do so far, take whatever you are planning and double roughly, lol.

I found my for racing 03 catalog and they have a 351w stroker short block, but no price is listed! any one know it it would be cheeper to buy the short block from ford or buy a 351w from a salvage yard and have it built with a stroker kit?

well i have one vote for the short block and one for the salvage yard build up,any one else want to imput their 2 cents? I also should mention that i can get the short block strait from ford racing at cost!
