3in cat back and stock mid-pipe

I am looking at a 3in Mac cat-back on Ebay. Will the ball and socket flange fit correctly with the stock mid pipe? I'm just not sure if the diameter differences of the exhaust effect the size of the connection.

I dont think you will be able to do it. A 3 inch cat back is over kill too well, unless your pushing 400 hp. Just get a nice new 2.5 cat back.

Hmmm, well the only reason I was looking at the 3in was because of the price I could get it for.

I gave up and just ordered a set of spintech pro streets. So we'll see how that sounds.
