I have a stock '01 GT and I cannot get the computer to run the Evap or the EGR tests.

I have erased a mis-fire code that I get at normal idle (having a problem w/#5), and have gone thru several drive cycles and done the recommend driving procedures to force the I/M tests to run. All run except the EVAP and the EGR test.

Does anyone have any ideas to get the computer to run these tests?

All ideas are welcome, thanks-

ODB2 drive cycles

I spent what seamed like a month one day trying to resolve an EGR problem. It took a lot of driving for the PCM to run the test and throw a code.

Bottom line, is is normal for it to take an extended drive cycle to run all of the tests. Each time the PCM is reset, it starts everything all over.

Based on prior experience, if it takes a huge amount of time for the EGR test to run, it will fail in the end.

Regarding the EVAP purge test, it will run if the temperature is between 40 and 100 degress F. Is it cold where you are?

Note, the EVAP purge WILL run after a 8 hour cold soak.

Are you following the ODB drive cycles as mentioned in the attached document?
