    is a oil pan off a 4.6L truck different from a 4.6L mustang oil pan?

    I would definitely think so. The grand marquis one is more shallow than the stang's...I know you also need to change the oil pan if you do the aviator swap...so I don't think there's really any application where you can get away w/ not swapping the pan AND getting it to sit properly on the K.
