Cheaper way would be a 351 based swap. The extra cubes will make up for the technology difference.
A 351 comes with GT40's, no? Those heads are small on a motor as big as a 351. I don't see how you'd make alot more power over a GT40 302. More torque, yes. But an even smaller powerband and not much more power don't make it very appetizing.
A 351 with a top end kit, though... That's where I start getting a stiffy.
