Anyone here running one now? What are the main drawbacks over a GT or stock 5.0 lx? Frame reinforcement? Lastly, Will a stock 5.0 HO motor hurt my lx frame?
lx 5.0 are the same as gt 5.0 minus the ground effects
for a 4cyl the chassis is the same brakes are smaller ect ect....you get the picture...

I wonder if I'll have trouble stopping....
I guess i don't get what your getting at....? Main drawbacks over a GT or stock 5.0 lx? Um... nothing? Unless i'm mistaken, the body is the same regardless of the engine. A 4 cyl is actually better if you plan on putting a new engine in it anyways. First its cheaper and 2nd the frame should be straight because the 4 banger doens't have enough tq to hurt anything.
Are you actually being serious? Or are you just being retarded? Pretty sure you'd put ATLEAST the stock 5.0 brakes on it if not sn-95 brakes when you put an 8.8 underneath it....
first off what are you building the car for is it you just want a v -8 to have more power or just a full out car car that you my drive on the road. the 5.0 out of a thunderbird is not the same as the 5.0 out of a mustang. it will just bolt in but the tranny cross member needs o be a v8 for the double exhaust. the fuel lines have to be changed. the brakes off the 4 banger will work if you just street drive it and a little racing good luck

First of all....I agree with 1990Coupe. Why would you answer someones question like that??? You should be
Now, to answer the thread starters question nicely....
All the Mustang bodies are the same no matter what the motor size.
The front suspension is "different" because of supposed better ball joints/bushings in the LCA's. Thicker sway bar, struts and spindles have different thickness where the strut bolts up, and all 5.0L cars of course have bigger brakes.
The rear end in 4cyl is 7.5 drum vs. 5.0L 8.8 drum.
Now if you do this swap. You can use all the front suspension from the 4cyl. However, I would recommend swapping to the V-8 spindles, struts and brakes. You can keep the 4cyl control arms and K-member, even the springs. My notch is a 4cyl conversion. I have the 4cly front and rear springs. It sits very nice.
I drove my car around for 1 month with the 7.5 rear end, until my 8.8 was built. I then swapped it in with all new control arms and brake hardware.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Wow man your car looks great! I will be running this thing sans-interior. It will be a driving machine. Everything it needs to go down the road and nothing it doesn't. The dash will be a flat panel with gauges in it. I am coating all metal surfaces with a rubberized paint similar to truck bed liner.
Thanks man....That sounds good. Another coating for metal panels is POR15. It comes in gloss black, silver, grey, and clear. I used the gloss black and it shines better than anything I have ever seen. It is very hard, very glossy, and very tough. It doesn't hold up to UV light, so anything exposed to the sun will fade.
Heres two pics of my undercarraige.

Make sure you make a progress threads and lake a lot of pics.
I thought there was a 5.0 HO available in the T-bird/Cougar/Mark VII cars as an option? I could swear i've seen them though somewhat rare when picking through the JY. Are those similar to our Mustang engine? There was a thread about the similarities between the engines awhile ago but I lost track of it.
