    Junk Yard Twin Turbo

Basically, buy a pair of shorty headers, flip em upside down, hack off the header flanges and weld on some T3 or T4 turbo flanges, bolt on your 2 turbos of choice (most people use T3's off of turbocoupes or T04B's off of diesel trucks) and rig up an intercooler and then inlet piping.

my car makes 420 at the wheels with a safe tune using a vortec v2 sq, steeda cam and mildly worked over trick flow heads. Of course it did so with a propper fuel and ignition system. But running on the street it makes 380-400whp becuase i am running a safer tune. If you want the cheapest way to make 420+ at the wheels do a junk yard twin turbo, but if you want a safe, driveable 420+ then go with a well thought out package.

Go to e-bay or the classifieds and buy a good used S or SQ trim for 1600 or so and bolt it on. Thats what I did, get a good used set of heads and there you go. I have never dynoed mine (don't really care about dyno numbers but it rips) The only problem with a JYTT is I am sure it will take a few sets of head geaskets or a motor to rig up a fuel and timming controll system. Which if buy a complete blower package you will get. JMO good luck

How will a JYTT with stock heads, stock intake, and a stock cam be any less "safe and driveable" than a "well thought out package" like spending more money for a blower and heads? Doesn't make sense to me.

How are you going to add extra fuel under boost? how are you going to controll your spark under boost? is there alot of reasearch done on JYTT set ups to get you started. Oh BTW I live in CA where a Vortech is smog legal how about a JYTT? I could be wrong please give me a cost break down for the JYTT including all the parts and controllers you need I am curious.

    42lb/hr injectors, A pro-M maf, and a 255 LPH pump, done.

    Get a chip burnt.

Check out www.turbomustangs.com, and you can join the yahoo mailing group JYTURBO. Plenty of info on there, as well as lots of peoples setups and what they have done with em.

That's a tough question. I'm sure that if you ran cats, and got the car nice and hot before you got it tested (if you have to do a rollers test, if its just an idle sniffer you'd probably be fine just taking it in) it would pass, but you don't really stand a chance of passing visual, unless you take the time to try and make headers like on incon kits that mounts them beside the engine and just hoped the guy didn't notice, or pay him off. For price on the setup, you could do a non intercooled setup for less than 1000 if you were really stingy, but most people end up spending between 1500-2000 dollars total. Once again, turbomustangs.com and the yahoo jyturbo group have some good info.

That's a link to the yahoo group, to make your life easier :)
