I want to get a classic Mustang. I am thinking of going with a six cylinder, for now, to save on gas. What I want to know waht kind of mileage they tend to get. I realize that there are many variables, mileage on engine, year of car, etc... I just want some ballpark numbers. I am hoping it is significantly better than 13mpg (what my truck gets) to help sell my wife on the idea. :SNSign:

i can go on a full tank of gas for a month...but i typically dont drive on highways...my car seems to consume a lot more gas on the highway since it only has 3 gears and i'm doing like 3000 rpms at 70 mph. but when i just do my daily routine my gas lasts about a month.

When I drove it everyday, my '66 used to avg. 20mpg in city.

I noticed you said 6 cyl. "for now." If you're planning on swapping to a V8 later on get a '67+ car. Accumulating the parts for a '65/'66 V8 conversion is a PITA, and if my '66 wasn't my first car, I would've sold it for a similar condition V8 car.
