'73 coupe to vert - rocker panel question

I am converting a coupe to convertible. I have purchased the new rockers and they are going to be installed this week. Question: Does the new rockers need to be trimmed to fit on top of the rear torque box or cut the torque box so that the new rockers will fit right in between the torque box and the outer rockers? Any pics would be very helpful of those who have replaced rockers before.
