8.8 rear ends

ive heard people say that all the housings are the same length but the axles are what make them longer is this true? im swapping my 86 over to rear disc but im keeping my stock length axles,and using the brakets to so. does it matter what housing i use?

All the 8.8 rear axle housings made before 1999 are the same width. The difference in track was due to different axle lengths.

You want to use an 86-98 housing. So in other words you can keep your current 8.8

If you want to use your stock lenght axles, you will need the north race cars brackets
