84GT headlights and dash lights stopped working

tonight i went to go for a ride and i noticed my dash lights didnt come on and then noticed the head lights not working and the red warning light was on .i tryied the high beams and the 2 outer bulbs lit up but not all 4 lights or the dash lights.the warning light did shut off when the highs were on.the parking lights worked fine and interior light.could the problem be the head light switch Thanks for any help
