87 gt randomly dies then no juice at all? help please

a few ppl were getting together to head out fro a cruise last night then we all stopped for gas,then my friends 87 just lost all juice and wouldnt start when he went to start it after getting gas.no headlights,interior light,nothing.check terminals,nothing.so we go to jump it,wires are on the other car,positive is on his and we go to hook up the last negative and the it starts sparking everywhere and you can hear the starter trying to turn over yet nobody is in the car and the lights and everything still are not coming on.anyone got any ideas?

Yupp, just had that happen to me.. It's just the solenoid, a trip to autozone and $20 later, and you'll be good to go.
