87 mustang gt help and qustions please idle

i got a fwe qustions i got a 87 gt i was wondering when it idle's it staying around 2k 2400 sometimes when you hit the gas it drops down but then goes back up ? another ? does my car got a check engine light a low colant light and low fuel light just brouth this gt and iam new to the whole thing i know a lil about cars but not a whole lot about gt's

Go to the Useful Tech sticky and the surging idle thread. Run through it (including pulling codes) and see what you find. The idle issue could be as simple as a massive vac leak.

The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.
