88 Lx Idle In Park / Neutral And Shuts Off

Good morning all,
I need some advise, I recently had my started replaced and prior to this I would not really have a problem with my idle when in "Park" or "Neutral". Not that it has been replaced and starts up fine, for the most part. The initial start up and when in park or neutral it idles great, however, when i drive it for a let's say 10 /20min, and then place it in park, the idle will be really rough and the engine will shut off.

Anyone know anything on this?

You guys with idle/stall problems could save a lot of time chasing your tails if you would go through the Surging Idle Checklist. Over 50 different people contributed information to it. It includes how to dump the computer codes quickly and simply as one of the first steps. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions. You can post questions to that sticky and have your name and idle problem recognized. The guys with original problems and fixes get their posts added to the main fix.

It's free, I don't get anything for the use of it except knowing I helped a fellow Mustang enthusiast with his car. At last check, it had more than 159,000 hits, which indicates it does help fix idle problems quickly and inexpensively.

Actually, I did check that thread out after i posted this and it completely helped me out. I unplugged the IAC and adjusted the screw, plugged it back it, warmed it up for about 2 minutes... It started to surge, then adjusted the screw again to the correct idle and vualaa! it worked and has helped so much!
