no tension on my key now.....took plastic off the column, and the ignition switch seperated and now in a couple peices lol just wondering how hard this is gonna be to replace. i seen the part itself is cheap??

Check to see if it was supposed to be replaced through a Ford recall. My 88GT was recalled and I put it off until it sparked one day on me.

same thing happen to me... one day i went out to car to start it and they key turned freely no tension it what so ever... broke the litte gear inside which pushes the switch forward to start it... i just went to the junkyard and got a whole new switch because mine wasnt just switch... but if you have to replace it all i think you have to pull the wheel... i did for some reason i can't remamber why now... but its easy and straight forward... just a lil pain in the ass.... GL... take it apart and see what you got and what has to be replaced
