I know there are a lot of threads out there about this but I cant find any that have exactly what I am seeing right now. I have verified that there is no spark between the distributor cap and the plugs, using a spark tester. However I do get a single spark when the engine first starts to crank by placing the tester between the coil and the distributor cap. I researched testing the pip and TFI. From the testing I performed, this is what I came up with: I have 12 volts on the TFI power wire, and 12 volts on the wire that should have power when the engine is cranking. I have confirmed the ground. There is 12 volts on the Coil. The PIP seems to be functioning, I see the test light flashing when the engine cranks. I also connected the test spark tester to the distributor cap and straight to a ground and still got no spark. So I don't think that the plug wires are the cause. So here is my question; after confirming that the PIP is pulsing I checked the wire between the coil and the TFI. When the car cranks it turns the ground on but it does not pulse like everything I have read says it should. So I replaced the TFI, the new TFI does exactly the same thing. is there anything else that I should test? from what I have read and already knew this ignition system should be working.
