I have a stock 91 302 efi i have put in my 68 mustang, i need help on wiring the alternator. its a stock alternator with internal voltage regulator and I'm not needing to upgrade since I'm not running much load. Anybody have any tips on wiring the alt. is the external voltage regulator necessary in the 68, can i just get rid of it or do i need to jump wires? I have a green wire in my rjm efi harness that says alt, any ideas what its for?

Thanks

that kinda looks like a 2g alt. a 3g is better, the one with no external fan on pulley. they both hook up the same, all wires go to starter relay + bat side. the 18 ga green wire with red stripe is to amp gage and is the same color in old mustangs. get a J Y 175 amp fuse and use between alt and bat. check with numerous posted diagrams on web
