95 compared to 96 performance

I have had a 95 Cobra for about a year and a half, it is fun to drive and handles very well. For descriptive purposes, it feels solid doing 70 through some twisties near my house. I just purchased a Mystic 96 and it feels loose in the back end, like it is going to shoot out from underneath me, doing 50 through the same turns. Both cars are stock in the suspension department. The 96 is running the same tires as the 95 only 255s on the 96 and 245s on the 95. The rear tires on the 96 are new .... less than 20 miles. Am I wrong to expect that the handling on these should be equal or so close that differences would go unnoticed?

Check the rear sway bar mounts, it is very common for these to be cracked or broken on these cars. The supension should be the same for both these cars, but bad shocks, worn bushing or any other mechanical problems can make a huge difference in ride and handling.
