we have a '96 Cobra and are having our first t45 problem sense we bought the car last year. I am wondering about the t56. Are there any of you guys that drag race NA 4.6 cobras that have swaped to a t56 that can tell me about any loss of time at the track, or power loss at the wheels? I had heard back about 6 years ago that the NA 4.6 guys where losing time at the track by going to the t56. Thanks Brad
Come on guys, someone in here has put a T56 in 4.6 cobra for drag racing, let me know what happened to your track times with the t56... anybody?
Look into www.dandperformance.com They offer two types of 6 speeds. They have different ratios in the trans. Call them and see if they can answer your question on the 1/4 mile conerns you have. I don't have one, but I have constantly heard that you may have to shift into 5th depending on the gear in the rear end and the ratios in the trans. They weigh more than a T45, the shifter sits further back so floor mods may be neccessary and you must move back the crossmember and shorten the driveshaft.
Guess we are going to go with a TKO, Sure would have liked that extra high 6th gear for some4.30's though.
I like mine, plus if you look at the o/d ratio, the sixth gear doesn't add much. .64 v .62 edit, correct link www.ddperformance.com
