My convertible was just the victim of a hit and run. The bumper itself is fine, but the paint is awful. How much money am I talking to get it repainted, worst case scenario? I mean, if I have to get the whole bumper stripped and painted black, am I going to be a poor high school student for months?

    I had two quotes, $300

I had some very minor rear bumper damage and got two quotes for $300. Both included removing the bumper to do the work. I was also told the new paint would hold better on the original bumper, compared to a new replacement. I'm still waiting to have it done, I want to repair the license plate holes in the front bumper at the same time.

A quick job would probably cost around $125 provided it's just minor repair and paint. Stripped, repaired, and painted would be around $200-300. I would be concerned with how much paint is already on your bumper cover, being a 97 model it might have a few coats already.
