97 GT Knock

hey guys i have a 1997 GT with a knock that sounds like it is coming from the left side valve cover but i had it checked and thats not it at lease we think. i can say it knocks loud at idle and if you give it gas to about the 1500rpm range or above it quiets down or even stops. any ideas of what it could be? i was thinking rod bearing or wrist pin. let me know what you think. thanks!

its your timing set (chain) you have a lot of slack and its slapping the timing cover. id pull it a part asap and double check before you do some very seriuos damage.

just curious if that is the issue. is timing on it touchy? can i do it myself or should i have a garage do it?
