my car has been stalling when its hot outside it will start to idle down and will have no throttle response and act like its starving for something but if i sit there for a min it will fire up and drive again then basically repeat itself i know it has to do with the heat messing with something cause at night i can cruise around for hours problem free any advice?
check your fuel psi > it might not be the heat affecting the motor >but the pump getting hot during the hot hours of the day and shutting off>
/ so would that mean the pump is bad or what? if thats the case could it be the fuel pressure regulator?
unless you got the money to just throw parts at it > wait >we need to find the problem first then upgrade > if you just put parts on it you never know what it was that is giving you problems > incase it come's back down the road > It might not have anything to do with the fuel at all > find a fuel guage and watch you fuel psi > if it looks screwy or weak then try to find a fuel psi reg > hopefully someone has a nice after market one cheap > most of the time it's your pump not the reg > but if you do have to put a pump in your car > buy new > gas tanks suck > and if you can swing it > up grade to a larger pump (more flow)
