about to go turbo...what do i need?

On my last fox build my 255 supported 515 hp.
I'm sure it worked but for me idk over kill on fuel wouldn't bother me

I actually just orderd a 255lph hp pump a few weeks ago because eventually I plan on a little NA 408 street motor and want to have it in there already

i got a 340 for this build.

i guess i'll do a little update. i got everything in for the turbo kit, as well some 9333pt1 head gaskets, 1250s-3 intake gaskets, and some arp head studs to regasket and stud the top half of my engine. i also managed to pick up some 04 gt brake/5 lug stuff for $100 (i got twin piston front pbr's, rear calipers, all 4 good rotors, and 04 spindles) , so now i'm piecing together a 4 wheel disc 5 lug swap as well. i ordered 31 spline mosers and an eaton detroit truetrac. i also got a set of rear caliper brackets from a 95 gt and some front spindles from a 94 v6 car.

what do i need as far as master cyl, prop valve, brake lines, fittings, etc? i've done searches online and have read many opinions and what not, just seeing what you guys think. do i need the steel braided line kits for the front and rear from maximum motorsports?

I would also ditch the 04 spindles. Not because of the track width, but because of bumpsteer issues with 96+ spindles on a fox with the stock k-member. The steering geometry will be all out of whack. Unless you want to invest in a MM k-member, get a set of 94-95 spindles.

way ahead of you guys, i already picked up some spindles off a 94 v6 car from a salvage yard. i will be selling the 04 spindles. what about the rest of the stuff needed? should i do a 94/95 booster/master cylinder, or can i just get a 93 cobra master cylinder and use it with my booster? 3-2 conversion? are the braided line kits for the front and rear from maximum motorsports the best way to go?

thanks guys!

As far as the on3 kit...I've owned zero, but have installed 2, 88GT & 93 LX. The kit is what it is. You got a decent turbo which should keep you happy for a while. Their cheap chinese turbo shouldn't even be sold in America IMO. Their hot side is not the stoutest piece out there. If you ever have issues with it, call B&G for one of theirs. Cold side is ok...might upgrade their clamps if you want. Their BOV will get you in the game and you can always purchase a better one (fairly cheap). Both kits needed a lot of adjustments to make it fit...but like a few guys have said, I was expecting that and it wasn't a big deal. The LX front fascia needed a good amount of trimming to the inside for re-fitment...again, no big deal.
All kits are a collection of parts..you can find yourself upgrading said parts from time to time. Have more than enough fuel to be safe, tune is key. Put a modest tune in it.
I would say run the 3:27's with a 5 speed IF you had a stronger block...but that gear will take you to the rev limiter quicker than a 3:08 gear will....and you're goal is to stay away from the rev limiter (as much as possible lol) with a stock block. With that said...the 3:08 might be a good idea...something to think about.
Run the piss out of it...enjoy it! If something fails...fix the weak link! Sounds like hot rodding to me :)

Thanks for the input. I don't have an on3 kit though, I have a treadstone kit with a turbonetics 62-1 turbo, turbonetics wastegate, and a tial q bov. The intercooler and piping are treadstone, obviously. Good point about the gears, I will definitely consider that because I am running the stock block til it blows, and a t5 until the same point. I'm building my rearend along side doing this turbo kit, using 31 spline mosers and an eaton truetrac, both of which I already have.

Start saving for that new tranny now. The torque from that setup is going to do a number on it, real fast. When it starts to whine so loud that you can't hear the turbo spooling, you know you're starting to round off the gears. Save for a clutch and flywheel too, because when those gears shred, you'll be left with nothing but 4th gear, and you'll probably be 20 miles from home and get stuck at 5 traffic lights as you're limping back to your garage. You'll cringe as you look behind you and see the trail of clutch smoke you're leaving.

But nothing like that has ever happened to me, so what do I know ;)

lol oh i figured that. i have plans for a tko-600 eventually, hoping sometime this year. i'm just going to limp around town with the t5 until i can afford it, though. TRY to keep my foot from going too far into the floor, lol. this turbo and 5 lug/4 wheel disc/rear end build is already costing waayyyy too much money. but it's just money, right? :O_o:

okay so i have another question...i've been looking at the MM stainless hard line and 3 braided hose conversion kit for the rear of fox's doing a disc swap using sn95 calipers, but i can't tell if the braided caliper hoses will work with 04 gt rear calipers. i see they sell the rear braided caliper hoses for 94-95 cars by themselves, but they do not for 96-04 cars. does anyone know if the hoses will work with my setup?

here is what i'm talking about:
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/s...roduct_info&cPath=49_144_469&products_id=1438

Sn95 calipers means 94-04, not just 94-95. You should be fine with that kit. I do see what you are saying about MM not selling a 96-04 rear brake line kit by itself though, only 94-95. I know that in 96, the hoses became body mounted, and not axle mounted, but the fluid bolt for all the rear calipers should be the same. Just the mounting changed.

PHOTO UPDATE!!!

i said i'd take some pics for you guys, so here they are. again, i haven't started any work yet, just gathering parts still.
