I was surfing around and found this site compiling the fastest production cars of all-time. Pretty interesting as I sat looking at all the different cars, HP ratings, engines. etc.
Best thing is it has many different types of Mustangs, SC, stock, etc.
SEE IF YOUR MUSTANG IS LISTED HERE AND IF YOU BELEIVE IT IS AN ACCURATE COMPILATION OF TRACK TIMES!

Yeah I was impressed. This is a cool list of vehicles. MOPAR is at the top. I think I have heard of other people acheiving better speeds/times in their 2005/2006mustang GT's and Convertibles. Anyone have track time slips that can authenticate that? I mean cmon they got a subaru WRX listed faster than the GT coupes! Is that really true?

    My Favorite..

    2005 Lotus Elise Sport 1.8L I4 190 13.3 102.9 MT

Makes me laugh that a 1.8L with 190 HP beat out some pretty big names like Corvette and GTO and yes, many Mustangs too.

It was the only car with less than 200 HP on the entire list.

    Good stuff

Yeah, well it's a 1,975 pound go cart. The original Euro version was around 1,500 pounds. Definitely wouldn't want to be rear-ended by a Suburban driving soccer mom in one of those...

did those top three really run 10 something sec 1/4 miles? because that is really hard to believe they would outrun a bugatti especially because we have approx. 50 years of automotive engeneering and we cant match that. but o well. they are beasts. my gt is fast enough for me.

    You miss the point.

I would not want to get rear-ended in my Lincoln by a Suburban.

Some of the slower cars had better power to weight ratios than the little Elise.

I personally appreciate the minimalist attitude of the Elise.

I think that the top 3 were "production" cars, and anyone was able to purchase them. But they were made in very little quantity...at least the ones portrayed in this list.
These vehicles are all supposedly stock and it simply states that someone was able to run these times with a car with factory specs.
I think maybe the person who drove the Bugatti with 1001 HP maybe was scared and didn't want to really get on it. They are supposedly the fastest production carin the world with a top speed of over 255mph.
They also cost over 1.2 million bucks! I would get one if they had the color I want...:)

well numbers dont lie, so all i can see is that the bugatti isnt nessisarily being made for everybody who wants one. with that kinda price tag and limited production i believe it would put it in the same category as the top 3 cars. but it still got beat. plain and simple.

Those fastest car list are like the "sexy hunk" list or the "bodacious babe" list in celebrity mags.....every mag has different cars at different rankings. The East coast mags favor Ford and the West coast favor GM and Middle America mags favor Mopars. And I must not forget the wine and cheese mags drool over anything European and slight anything American. Take the list with a grain of traction compound and a wink.

I think a lot of that list is horse feces. There's no way a 69 Vette will run mid 10's. Maybe mid 13's or even high 12's on a good day. A Ramcharger running 12.0????? Puhleez. A 69 Camaro won't dip into the 12's either.

Yes those cars listed are capable of those times, but not on street tires, and with open pipes. As far as beating a Bugatti, remember cars like the Hemi Cuda, the Hemi Dart some of the others were built to do one thing and one thing only accelerate down the 1/4 mile.

that list is so unblievably full of crap its not funny

the 10 second MSUCLE cars they list?

not on a cold day in hell did they ever actualy run those times with a factory car.

the factory cars as delviered back then were low 14 high 13 second cars.

when you se those kind of numbers they took a special preped factory ringer car with open headers slicks etc for the magazine.

those were not what the car you could buy from the dealer ran. PERIOD.

    IMO:
MOPAR from the mid 60's to VERY early 70's = :nice:
From 1974 and beyond... MOPAR stands for Mostly Old Parts And Rust!

What was the Pontiac ad theme in the 60's?

"Race on Sunday, sell on Monday" (or something like that)

The top two cars listed are pure purpose built drag cars and are NOT streetable. In fact before most of the cars were built they were already earmarked for race teams. The same goes for the Ford Thunder Bolt Fairlane.
    :nice:

Here is a picture of the 68 Hemi Cuda
