I have just rebuilt a 1971 351C motor... its sweet. I just assembled a C-5 Trans with a shift kit and torque converter. Motor went in smoothly and the tranny bolted up without just a couple minor problems. I now have the major problem of the tranny being .5" away from the crossmember mount.....:bang: Any solutions to this problem?? Any ideas would be great, and this is all going in a 73' mustang that already came with a 351C and FMX tranny. THANKS ! :nice:

you probably need a c4 crossmember. IIRC the c4 and c5 both use the same mounting point for the trans mount. the FMX is the same as the c6. on the earlier cars the c4 and manual trans both used the same crossmember and FMX and c6 used one of their own.
