Not possible, guess again.

IF you are talking about the main power section of the starter solenoid, it works no matter which way you hook it up.

If you hooked up both leads to one side, then I say duh!

Disconnect the bat and check it with an ohm meter if you dont believe me.

Sounds like he didn't replace the the old solenoid one side at a time. Instead, took everything off the old one, then unsuccessfully put it all back on the new one.

Thats what I was thinking too, just didnt want to make him feel bad. Must be more careful, I try to label stuff, even though I know where it goes, just makes things quicker and more foolproof. In nuetral, E-brake on , and wheels chocked = good plan

Another idea that is a safe thing to do is wheel chalks. I all most always use them good investment if you ask me.

Yep! I usually block at least one of the tires w/ a brick or rock or something to hopefully keep it from rolling.

Yup i chalk one on one side of the tire then the other tire on the opposite side so it cant go either way

no guys, i did one side at a time. if it doesnt matter what side each group of wires goes on then this part was defective. i put my old one back in with the wires on the same way as it was on the new piece and it fixed the problem.
